    JAM Collective was hired to introduce OtterBox’s first cooler to the outdoor industry. After a successful launch, the OtterBox team asked JAM to take over its public relations strategy for all of its consumer products including mobile phone cases, power and accessories! Keeping OtterBox’s mobile cases and accessories in the news with tech editors is always a top priority but what about expanding the reach beyond core tech and into lifestyle? JAM has created unique moments for the brand to engage with lifestyle media most notably activations and surprise & delight mailings.

    JAM Collective works closely with Arc’teryx each season to identify key storytelling moments, and prioritize those opportunities as a way to solidify its place in core outdoor and grow the mind share of new audiences. These strategies require unique tactics, from seamlessly orchestrated virtual press events to individualized pitches of exclusive opportunities. The outcome is a blend of key product stories gaining traction among the core, with in-depth brand features introducing Arc’teryx to wider audiences.

Julie Atherton founded JAM in 2000 to combine her favorite things: creative ideas, bringing people together, and celebrating great products everybody should know about. PR is always evolving, and so are we. What remains constant through every new venture is a deep love for the work we do.

CEO AND FOUNDER

Julie has worked in marketing and public relations for over 30 years—and hasn’t left yet. From The North Face and Old Navy to groundbreaking fan-favorites like Snow Peak, Julie’s career in brand development includes many unique and successful companies. Julie brings the creativity of an artist and sharp, visionary instincts that power her work with innovative and creative clients. When she was six years old, Julie dreamed of becoming a teacher.

VICE PRESIDENT

Julie, also known as JC or the “other Julie,” is a 20-year public relations veteran. She brings a breadth of experience in consumer goods, working with brands like Pottery Barn and Donna Karan. JC is passionate about connecting products with the right audiences and engaging with media and content creators in unique ways. When she was six years old, JC dreamed of becoming an archaeologist.

Amy May

PR DIRECTOR

Amy is a former journalist who’s been in the public relations game for 15 years. She’s known for her feisty fusion of editorial awareness and marketing know-how, bringing a comprehensive approach to everything she does. A multi-tasker to her core, young Amy once dreamed of being a ballerina princess fairy-godmother.
